Before I even begin to explain the intro of this game, I got to say it has been the saddest game I have ever played in the Kingdom Hearts series. 

As soon as the player clicks "Story Mode" on their DS there is a short cut scene. The first thing you see is a Nobody (Nobodies come from a person from a strong heart that was turned into a heartless. They, too, have no hearts, but wish to have one to become their own person) symbol. Thirteen members of Organization XIII are shown dressed in a black cloak. They sit around the symbol on very high, white chairs. Their Leader, Xemnas, starts to speak. "Pitiful Heartless, mindlessly collecting hearts. The rage of the keyblade, releases those hearts. Gathered in darkness, master-less and free, until they weave together to make Kingdom Hearts." As he speaks, the player sees the face of each Organization XIII member on their seats. "And when that time comes, we can truely, finally exist." When he says that, there is a small close up on their newest member, Roxas, the main character. The screen turns black and players come to see Roxas and a red-headed guy named Axel. Sitting on a clock tower together watching the sunset (while the theme song begins in the background). Axel asks his best friend about his thoughts on not having a heart."We would feel it, wouldn't we?" Responds Roxas. With a small chuckle form Axel, he gives Roxas Sea-Salt ice-cream. After that, Orgainization member's number, name,power and weapon are shown. There are different cutscenes for different character, some on Chain of memories, and Kingdom Hearts II.

Then we see Roxas again but not in his black cloak. He is dressed in different clothes and the Leader asks him if he was looking for a answers. Seeing Sora's name appear on the air the letters are shuffled around until an "X" appears. Xemnas names Roxas and gives him purpose. (Keep in mind that was the first week that Roxas joined the Organization). Axel tells Roxas, that when he first joined the Organization they ate ice-cream on the tower and watched the sunset. 

All Members

A new member is introduced; number XIV, Xion. Watching the new member form his chair, Roxas remembers when he was introduced. He looked at Xemnas when he joined, but he was surprised when the new member looked at him and not the Leader. Giving him a small smile.
